I literally had to watch the MV ten times before I could utter a word. Once again, Infinite has exceeded my expectations. Woolim and Infinite have created another masterpiece that will be greatly enjoyed by Kpop fans. It was mind-blowing starting from the beginning. What I love about this music video is that it enhances and flows with the song. The intro, “Infinitize”, matched perfectly with the scenes of Myungsoo in the rolling car. It also flowed so nicely into “The Chaser” that I forgot that they were two separate songs.
When the song starts, the look on Myungsoo’s face melts my heart. Then, we have Infinite showing us their synchronized dance moves. My favorite moves were the MyungGyu heart-grabbing, Sungjong shirt pulling, and the double-hand swishing. I was so surprised when I heard Sungjong’s voice. Does anyone else think that it has gotten much deeper?
The storyline of this MV was unclear like many of other Infinite’s videos. It took me an entire day to come up with a possible explanation. The song is about a guy telling a girl that she can leave him, but he will get her back one day. Each Infinite member portrays a different kind of chaser. Whoever gets the key can unlock the box and get the girl he wants. First, the entire incident with Myungsoo is a flashback. Myungsoo dies in a car accident and it is implied that Sunggyu killed him for the key. Sunggyu represents the crazy chaser while Myungsoo is the chaser who is struggling to protect the key. Next, there is Sungyeol and Dongwoo who look really hot riding those motorcycles. Sungyeol is seen as a chaser who is lost and Dongwoo is a rebellious chaser. Both do not have the key so it is assumed that they are still chasing. Then, there is Hoya who is climbing, but then gets stuck in a triangle/mirror room. He is the trapped chaser and since he does not have a key, he does not find what he wants. Sungjong is the most successful one because he is the closest to opening the box. Yet, the MV never shows if he does open the box. Unfortunately, Woohyun does not really have a part and I am not sure what he is doing (But he does look REALLY gorgeous).
